In Dubai even Fashion was on holiday yesterday! I told you I was a little bit lazy this week end… you will all agree that it even reflected on my outfits too!! Very basic, week end casual look… I promise I will make it up to you very soon…

Winter Farewell

It’s finally the week end, loooong week end (Woohoo!) but still I’m rushing thinking that I won’t have enough time again to do everything before the end of the week end… anyway as any good Parisian you have to be constantly in a rush…

So between grocery (that’s right I’m not buying only shoes but also salad and tomatoes sometimes...), 4 hours lunch, coffees… I’m just gonna show a series of photos that I have taken some time ago… the look is classic, nothing extravagant but like the spirit of it…

Must probably the last winter look of the season! Summer is almost here… Don’t be too sad I can tell you that this spring/summer trend is inspiring!! Can’t wait…

My boyfriend

Eh eh don’t get too excited, I’m not gonna start talking about my private life…or at least not now, not just like that!!

I’m talking about jeans here, ‘boyfriend’ jeans!!! Comment ca you don’t know what I’m talking about… when was the last time you opened a fashion magazine? April 1993? Ah okay bah that’s why!!!!!

Boyfriend jeans: used man cut jeans 4 times bigger than your normal size which you must roll up a little at the bottom to show your wrist. Jean to wear this season (yes bye bye slim!!)

So, after many tentative of ‘steal and wear one of my other half’s wardrobe’ and look cool but very very very far from sexy… (“Hum how many cupcakes did you had lately darling”… grrrrrr). I finally came up to the conclusion that even if we call them ‘boyfriend’ jeans it can’t really be a real man one (except if you measure 1m80 high) but slightly differently fitted, loose but fitted…

No problem, it just gave me the opportunity to have a new obsession, which filled up my whole last week agenda: find the perfect loose boyfriend jeans!!!!


I began my expedition, checking out Levi’s (“this jeans is for man maaam”… ggrrrrrr I know!!!!!!!!!!), whole jeans corner of Boutique 1, Ounass, Saks and desperately my other half wardrobe again…imagine me wearing an Indiana Jones outfit in Mall of the Emirates like in an archeological mission tatatata datata tatata (you all know the sound track)… and yesterday I finally got it! The Holy Grail!!!
Where?? Well on my weekly black pair of tights shopping in…. H&M!!
Ouf sauvez! The right color, the right details, the right fit, the right price… bravo!! Mission accomplished soldier! I can now think about my next obsession of the week! I have the feeling that it’s going to be very 80’s influence… Shuuuuutttttt

Gone with the wind

You don’t know me yet very well so you might think that I am a little bit, I don’t know, excessive, that I’m over reacting, that I’m a drama queen… okay okay that’s true I’m a mixed of all of that!!
Eh oh come on give me a break I’m a bloody woman, a bloody French woman, sorry a bloody French woman with Mediterranean roots!!! Huh huh sorry….

But my point is. Why am I always got it wrong!!!!!!! I’m talking about Dubai weather/dress code…

For instance, last day, I wore a wool dress with tights (?????) (new Vanessa Bruno dress last chance to wear it), everybody kept asking me if I wasn’t hot (well I was but eh will never admit it) so I took the most natural posture while (lying) answering “pfff me? Nooooo.. Why?”.
I was avoiding all outdoor smoke breaks and pretending that I was allergic to the smoke, overlooking to my friends having apparently the best laugh of their lives…grrrrrr.... It was hooooooot!! Warm humid sand storming weather actually…

And today, well, I woke up on a spring mood (yes it happens), thinking I’m smart enough not to do twice the same mistake. So TODAY Mesdames messieurs… ta da… it is skirt day!! (bare legs bien sur) and not any kind of skirt non non but the silky skirt one… grrrrrrr
Well for those who were outside today will understand, for the others let me explain: IT WAS BLOODY WINDY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that you are all picturing me having the worse and longer walk of my life (cause walking holding the skirt, the bag and the coffee isn’t easy darling!!!) you can enjoy your day!

Ps: Paris Fashion week is starting tomorrow and I’m already all excited (even miles away...)

Showtime

Ah la la fashion weeks…designers, models, It-bags, fashionistas… while the milan fashion week is getting to the end. It is time to get to a conclusion…….. how the hell are we going to dress next fall!!!!! Dots? Lines? high boots? Low-boots? Tights? Black? Colors? Dramatic dilemma isn’t it?

I’ll explain, for the non-connoisseurs, how works the fashion week agenda: in February takes place the Fall-winter collections of the same year (i.e now the Ready-to-Wear Fall 09). Where? Major ones are Paris, NYC, London, Milan, with newest comer such as Stockholm fashion week. (are you still following me?)
During a full week, local designer are presenting to the world (editor, buyers, VIP, daughter of...) their next clothing lines and setting up next trends. Waow!

Yalla, No more techniques... I wear off my teacher’s glasses.

The shows don’t happen only inside but also outside. I explain (once again for the non-insider), the off-runway scene concept!!!!! Never heard of it? Look…

Back to Milan fashion week, aaah Alberta Ferretti, Blumarine, Iceberg, Marni, Missoni, Moshino, Etro, Jil Sander (my fav)… Italian fashion quoi!
To make it short, yesterday, we have seen fur fur fur, leopard pattern, purple, fuschia, red lipstick, 80’s revival (this deserve an entire post very soon), large (goldorak) shoulders, structure, bare legs and again fur fur fur...

Time to go hunting ladies!!
