Karl Superstar!

Rustic but always couture

I've always positioned Mr. Lagerfeld above all other fashion designers (don’t get me wrong there is plenty of young talented one but he’s just … simply unique), part of another sphere – King Karl, master Lagerfeld, today's most prolific designer*; I could go on forever with different superlative for him… but better I stop right there (okay i'm a fan so what!)

Dad (can i call you dad?) you're simply a genius!
.
Here after the latest SS10 Chanel show

When you think fashion editors have seen it all, and can’t be impressed anymore, it does just underestimate him; underestimate his fashion (business) genius, his talent… calm down Lily breath!

Once again he created the excitement.
Tuesday morning, during SS10 Paris Fashion Week, Karl Lagerfeld for the house of Chanel delivered a gigantic SHOW; the Grand Palais was transformed into a farm (kind of Laura Ingalls** farm, only better!), wooden stage and stands, wisps of straw on the floor… a live performance of Lily Allen… Prince in front row!!!
What about the clothes? Well even those were perfect: famous tweed suits reinvented a la sauce 2010 (skirts slightly cut on both sides), countryside but rock with fake chains tattoos painted on the wrists and legs of models, tights with band ‘en trompe l’oeil’, palette of cream, pastel (color of SS10 season)… Modern libertine spirit…

Freja Beha + Baptiste Giabiconi (Karl's omnipresent model) + Lara Stone

Anyway, here some of my favorites looks of the collection (sorry there is a lot I know hope you won’t get bored) and a brilliant article posted by Garance yesterday about the show (lucky her she was there!). Enjoy!
